Dr Nayan Kapadia (Independent Clinician) FRACGP, PTP, CWH, MPH & MHM (UNSW), MBBS (UQ) , BSc Hons (UniMelb), B.App Sci - Lab Medicine (RMIT)

Dr Nayan Kapadia

Nayan finished his medical degree from University of Queensland. He has worked in various hospitals in Queensland including Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, QE2 hospital, Redlands Hospital and Charleville hospital. He has previously worked in ICU and general surgery as Registrar before becoming a general practitioner. He is also a rural generalist and works in Warwick hospital as Senior Medical Officer doing emergency medicine and obstetrics where he delivers babies and does some gynecological procedures . He enjoys all areas of general medicine including paediatrics, general surgery, mens and womens health, general and chronic medicine and mental health. He is also a proceduralist and does complex skin cancer surgery, wedge resections of toenail, mirena insertions & removal, implanon insertions & removal and complex wound care. He also has interest in health policies and health management and as result of that has finished a dual masters in public health and health management from UNSW. He has previously studied BSc (Hons) and B.App Science from University of Melbourne and RMIT university respectively. Subsequently he worked as laboratory and research scientist in Melbourne. Outside of medicine he enjoys spending time with his family and kids and loves playing cricket.

Dr Punitha Sasalu (Independent Clinician) MBBS, FRACGP, MRCPsych (UK)

Dr Punitha Sasalu, a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), is a highly experienced UK-trained General Practitioner with over a decade of experience.

She offers both standard consultations and if required longer consults and telephone follow ups, and has a keen interest in all facets of general practice, with a particular focus on preventative health screening, nutritional assessments and mental health assessments and treatments.

Dr Sasalu’s offers services in women’s health, adolescent and paediatric care, geriatrics, and chronic disease management.

She is committed to delivering comprehensive, holistic, and safe care to her patients via a thorough and personalised approach.

Dr Pratishtha Sharma (Independent Clinician) MBBS, FRACGP, MRCGP (UK), DRCOG, DFSRH

Dr Sharma was born in India and after completing her degree, worked locally for a year in medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology before migrating to the UK in 2001.

After finishing general practice training, Pratishtha worked in the UK for eight years as a GP, before moving to Brisbane in 2015.

She has a passion for preventing illness as well as treating current problems and giving people hope about tomorrow. Her special interest is women’s health.

Outside medicine, Pratishtha loves cooking, especially Indian and South Indian recipes. She also enjoys watching films.

Dr Hemant Patel (Independent Clinician) MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Hemant Patel is a warm and thorough GP with over 30 years of medical experience, including 15 years in Australia. He is moving from Coffs Harbour, NSW, where he has cared for the local community in an MM3 rural practice. Hemant has worked across a wide range of hospitals and community settings, giving him a diverse and well‑rounded clinical background.

He enjoys all aspects of general practice and has strong interests in men’s health, obesity and lifestyle management, chronic disease care, and older‑age medicine. Hemant focuses on practical, personalised plans that support both a healthy mind and healthy body, using a holistic approach that considers sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, and emotional wellbeing.

Patients appreciate his clear explanations, gentle communication style, and genuine commitment to long‑term wellbeing.

Outside of medicine, Hemant enjoys running, gym training, 4WD adventures, spending time at the beach, and cooking. He believes in leading by example and loves motivating the community to stay active, embrace the outdoors, and build healthier habits through simple, sustainable lifestyle choices.

Dr Vandana Sehgal (Independent Clinician) MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Vandana Sehgal believes in and is passionate about providing holistic care in General Practice. She completed her medical training in 2003 in India. She moved to England in 2004 and undertook her postgraduate degree in General Practice, MRCGP in 2009. She also completed DRCOG in 2008.

She moved to Australia in 2015. She was awarded FRACGP in 2016. She is particularly interested in women’s and children’s health and mental health. She will work at the clinic on Wednesdays from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm.

Dr Geetika Gupta (Independent Clinician) MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Geetika graduated as a Doctor in 1999 in India. She moved to the UK in 2001 and trained to become a GP. She worked as a GP in the UK from 2008-2014. In 2014 she moved to Brisbane with her family and has been working as a GP in Brisbane since then. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.(FRACGP)

Dr Geetika enjoys all aspects of General Practice and has a special interest in Women’s health, Children’s health, Mental health and Travel health.

For Contraception, she can insert/ remove Implanons and remove Mirena’s in addition to providing oral or injectable contraception. She likes to be involved in Antenatal care. She can also do Cervical Screening.

She loves the Queensland sunshine and spending time with her family.

She is fluent in English and Hindi.

Dr Jay Patel (Independent Clinician) MBBS, MRCGP, DPD, FRACGP

Jay was born and brought up in London, England. He studied medicine at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Medical School. After completing his MBBS he worked in Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, Essex and Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone, London. He speaks English, Gujarati.

He then went on to complete his GP training in Kent, England. This included rotations in ENT, paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Oncology and working in Palliative care at the Heart of Kent Hospice. He also went on to complete a Diploma in Practical Dermatology at Cardiff University. His interests include skin conditions, ENT and chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. He worked as a GP in London for 5 years which included working in the local accident and emergency department.

Since moving from the UK in 2015, he has been working at various medical centres in Acacia Ridge, Annerley, Mango Hill, Upper Mount Gravatt and now Redbank Plains. He also regularly attends his local aged care nursing home in Carina.

Outside of medicine, Jay enjoys spending time with his family. He also loves sports especially football and supporting his favourite team, Arsenal FC!

Dr. Irene fernandes (Independent Clinician) FRACGP

Dr Irene Azavedo Fernandes was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She grew up in Goa,
India and completed her MBBS through the Bombay University. She practiced in Goa in paediatrics,
radiology and general practice. She obtained the FRACGP in Queensland and worked in rural Queensland for 20 years. The following are her areas of interest:

Dr Namrata Patel GP (Under Supervision)

She is a General Practitioner with over 7 years of international clinical experience, passionate about providing compassionate, patient-focused healthcare. Originally from Vadodara, Gujarat (India), she completed her MBBS in Russia in 2009 and practiced medicine there for several years. Working with patients from diverse backgrounds has shaped her approach to care, listening carefully, communicating clearly, and treating the whole person, not just the condition. Now practicing as a GP, she enjoys building long-term relationships with patients, supporting preventive health, and managing both acute and chronic conditions. She values continuous learning and teamwork, and she strives to create a comfortable and trusting environment for every patient.

Dr. Janmesh Dave (Under Supervision) MD, BSc

Dr Janmesh Dave is a dedicated General Practitioner currently under supervision who is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centred and comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families.

Dr Dave completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Northern Philippines in 2019 and subsequently gained several years of hospital-based clinical experience in India. During his time as a Junior Resident at Shantabaa Medical College & General Hospital, Amreli.
he worked across outpatient care, inpatient wards and emergency services, with experience in triage, wound management, minor procedures and acute medical presentations.

He believes that good general practice begins with listening carefully to patients, understanding their individual concerns and working together to achieve the best possible health outcomes. He enjoys caring for patients across different stages of life, with an interest in general family medicine, preventive healthcare, chronic disease management, acute presentations and overall wellbeing.

Dr Dave is committed to ongoing learning and professional development and looks forward to building long-term relationships with his patients and their families.

Dr. Tapan Patel (Independent Clinician) MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Tapan Patel is an experienced GP having worked in the health industry for over 20 years. He has worked in the Emergency Department as CMO at Bankstown Hospital- Sydney. He started general practice at Coastal Medical Clinic- Coffs Harbour. Before commencing his own practice at Jindalee, he worked in General Practice at ATSICHS – Brisbane and as a Medical Officer with the Australian Red Cross Blood Services – Brisbane.

Dr Tapan Patel is a committed health professional towards his patients’ health and wellbeing. He undertakes continuous professional development activities to deliver best and evidence based health care. He is skilled in all areas of general practice including men’s health, family planning, paediatrics, travel medicine, skin checks, minor surgery, nursing home and end of life care.

Josna Chaudhary (Nurse Practitioner) Nurse Practitioner

Nurse Practitioner, Jyotsna possesses a strong record of performance as a health care professional. She completed her Masters of Nurse Practitioner in December 2021 following ten years of clinical experience as an advanced practice nurse at an internal medicine unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Along with assessment, diagnosis and management of simple medical conditions and routine scripts, Jyotsna has a special interest in the management of chronic disease conditions such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension and chronic heart failure.
